Shenzhen, September 18, 2026 - The 2026 CPHI & PMEC Pharma Expo (Shenzhen) closed today at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (Futian) after three days. The event brought together 792 exhibitors and 18,462 professional visits, up 25.72% year-on-year, with overseas visitors from 101 countries and regions.
The show covered twelve sectors including pharma ingredients, excipients, biotech, formulations, natural products, pharma outsourcing, machinery and packaging, and lab equipment. Newly added biotech and smart manufacturing zones drew strong traffic, showcasing key capabilities from early-stage R&D to commercial production, along with full-chain software and hardware solutions.
Across more than 30 concurrent forums, "going global" was a recurring theme, with discussions extending from product registration to cross-border clinical filings, overseas pipeline partnerships and registration strategies for Southeast Asia and the EU. Overseas buyers showed a clear shift from seeking low-cost ingredients toward CDMO partners with EU-GMP compliance and stable supply capacity - a sign that Chinese API and intermediate suppliers are moving from a "cost option" to a "capability option" in global supply chains.
The medical aesthetics and efficacy innovation zone was also active, showcasing injectable ingredients and functional formulations such as hyaluronic acid, recombinant collagen and regenerative materials.
Positioned as a regional hub serving the Greater Bay Area and radiating to Asia-Pacific and Belt and Road markets, the next CPHI Shenzhen will return in September 2027.
